He was formerly a news editor and staff writer at Filter, a website dedicated to harm reduction journalism.
Before that, he was a reporter at VICE, where he primarily covered the tobacco and vape industry, drug policy, and labor. He has also been the sole copy editor for VICE Magazine, a news assistant on the international desk at The New York Times, and a page at CBS News. He’s been published in The New York Times, The New York Times Magazine, The Columbia Journalism Review, The Los Angeles Times, and The New Republic, among other places.
